ELGIN, Oklahoma -

Police have recovered the body of an Elgin man who drowned at Lake Ellsworth early Sunday morning.

Lawton Police officers were first called out to Ralph’s Resort on Lake Ellsworth just after midnight. Witnesses told police that 34-year-old Nathaniel Webb had been swimming when he went under and did not resurface.

Using side scan sonar, a Lawton Police Dive located Webb’s body around 8:30 a.m. Webb’s family was present at the lake when his body was recovered, according to a Lawton Police Department spokesperson.

Webb’s body was turned over to the medical examiner’s office to determine what might have led to the drowning.
