Crews Battle Fire At NW OKC Restaurant

Posted: Updated:
OKLAHOMA CITY -

Crews were called out to the scene of a commercial fire at a restaurant on the northwest side of the metro, Monday afternoon.

Firefighters were called out to the scene at The Taco, a small Mexican restaurant located in the 300 block of NW 63rd St., just east of the Chesapeake campus.

Fire crews reported seeing light smoke and a small amount of flame visible from the side of the building. First responders were able to quickly get the situation under control.

A spokesperson for the OKCFD said the building had just closed for the day and no one was inside at the time. Investigators say the cause is most likely electrical, and appears to have originated from an outlet and spread up a wall. A preliminary damage estimate has not been made at this time.
