CADDO COUNTY, Oklahoma -

On April 4, cameras were rolling in Darius Robinson's cell in the Caddo County jail.

Surveillance video released Monday starts with Darius Robinson pacing erratically back and forth.

He was being held there after he was arrested on a warrant for failure to pay child support.

Further into the video, Robinson appeared to be trying to attract attention from guards.

His attorney Malik Shabazz said he was denied medical care.

“Time after time jailers were informed of what was going on with Mr. Robinson. They could see it. They knew about it, they knew he required medical care,” civil rights attorney Spencer Bryan said

After more than 40 minutes of this behavior, two guards walk in and Robinson edged closer to the door.

The incident escalated when the male guard put Robinson in a chokehold until his body goes limp.

“Even a supervisor gave the order at the time ‘choke him out’ which is very shocking somebody would say that and say that’s a policy,” Robinson family attorney Malik Shabazz said.

Shabazz said what is even more shocking is that a grand jury came back with no indictments for the officers involved.

While Darius Robinson is laying on his cell floor, guards put handcuffs on his near motionless body.

Darius Robinson’s brother Ancio Robinson calls the footage “disappointing.”

Darius Robinson died in the Caddo County jail back in April.

An autopsy from the Medical Examiner’s Office revealed that Robinson was strangled and suffered from a crushed windpipe.

“My brother wasn’t the first to die in police custody, it’s shocking the way policies are written and the lack of training of the jailers in unimaginable,” Ancio Robinson says.

According to the Caddo County Sheriff Lennis Miller, all of the corrections officers involved in the incident are on paid administrative leave.

Lawyers representing Robinson’s family said they plan on filing a federal lawsuit.

Robinson's attorney posted surveillance videos taken inside the cell during the incident to YouTube.
