OKLAHOMA CITY -

The Oklahoma City Dodgers extended their season-best winning streak to seven games Wednesday night with a 3-2 win against the Colorado Springs Sky Sox at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

The victory gave the Dodgers a 3-0 sweep against the Sky Sox and their second straight series sweep in front of a crowd of 4,045.

With the game tied, 2-2, and the bases loaded with one out in the top of the seventh inning, pitcher Sam LeCure entered the game to pitch for the Dodgers.

He struck out Yadiel Rivera for the second out before Andrew Toles made a highlight reel catch in right field. Toles made a leaping grab on a fly ball from Sky Sox pinch-hitter Kyle Wren to end the inning and keep the game knotted, 2-2.

The Dodgers then grabbed the lead in their next at-bat, scoring the go-ahead run with two outs.

Micah Johnson and Austin Barnes hit back-to-back two-out singles in the bottom of the seventh inning. Then with Andrew Toles at the plate, and Johnson at third base, Colorado Springs pitcher David Goforth threw a wild pitch that allowed Johnson to score for a 3-2 lead.

LeCure (3-2) earned the win, holding the Sky Sox without a run or hit over 1.2 innings with one strikeout. Grant Dayton pitched a 1-2-3 top of the ninth inning for his second save for Oklahoma City.

Oklahoma City improved its record to a season-best 13 games above .500 to 49-36.

The Dodgers scored early to take the game’s first lead.

Johnson led off the bottom of the first inning with a single and Barnes followed with a ground-rule double into the Dodgers bullpen in left-center field. Toles came up to bat next and hit a sacrifice fly to left field to bring home Johnson for a 1-0 lead.

Barnes singled with one out in the bottom of the third inning and scored on a two-out single from Zach Walters into right field for a 2-0 Dodgers lead in the third inning.

Colorado Springs pitcher Hiram Burgos drew a one-out walk in the top of the sixth inning – the first allowed in the game by Oklahoma City starting pitcher Jose De Leon. Orlando Arcia later hit a two-run homer into left field to tie the game, 2-2.

The Sky Sox (41-42) loaded the bases with one out in the top of the seventh inning before LeCure entered the game to pitch.

De Leon pitched a season-high 6.1 innings and matched his season high with nine strikeouts. He allowed two runs and four hits and issued three walks. He faced the minimum through four innings and recorded seven strikeouts through four frames.

Sky Sox pitcher Goforth (2-2) was charged with the loss, allowing one run and two hits in the seventh inning.

Barnes went 3-for-4 with a run scored and Johnson went 2-for-4 with two runs scored to lead Oklahoma City’s offense.

The Dodgers next open a five-game, four-day home series against the Omaha Storm Chasers at 7:05 p.m. Thursday at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.
