A northeast Oklahoma City neighborhood is abuzz about a bevy of recent visitors.
Families in the area are reporting an influx of snakes. Some of them large snakes.
The Department of Wildlife Conservation said it’s normal for this time of the year.
They say one way to prevent snake encounters is to keep your grass mowed, and to eliminate brush piles around your yard.
Owen McCool’s family had three large snakes show up in their garage this past weekend.
Owen, 11, helped a neighbor and his dad move those reptiles to the woods.
Owen also dispatched another serpent found in another neighbor’s garage Monday.
Owen: “And then I picked it up by the tail and dropped on the…”
News 9: “You picked it up by the tail? Does your mother know that?”
Owen: “I don’t know, I don’t think so."
For helping out his neighbor, Owen received a large plate of brownies Tuesday afternoon.
“I love snakes,” he said.
