Second Suspect Arrested In Connection With Anadarko Homicide

The family of an Anadarko teen who was shot to death earlier this month is trying to figure out how to move forward after a second person is now in custody.

The first suspect, Christian Rolan Medina, turned himself in earlier this month.

Kaleb Knipp was charged with the shooting death of a 17-year-old Anadarko boy. Ever since, he has been on the run from authorities, but Sunday night, the US Marshal Service tracked him down at a mobile home in rural Grady County.

"It's as if someone reaches into your chest and rips out your heart,” his grandmother Sharon Sadongei said. “It's devastating."

It's taken a few weeks to even get to this point and to talk about the 17-year-old boy whose quick wit made everyone chuckle including grandma. Bradley Bohay once sat in her classroom.

"He was a student in my room. He was very intelligent, and I'm not saying that just because he's my grandson,” she said.

Like most proud grandparents, there is no loss for words when it comes to Bradley.

"Well behaved, polite,” Sadongei said.

However, police were at a loss when there was no sign of a second suspect in  Bradley's case until Sunday when they found Knipp hiding inside a home just south of Chickasha. It is something Bradley's family doesn't want to think about, and instead focus on the many smiles Bradley brought.

"He had a wry sense of humor,” Sadongei said. “He liked to make people laugh.”

The day he was laid to rest was no different.

"In our culture we stay until the body is completely buried,” Sadongei said. “Everyone had gone away from the cemetery and only his cousins were left burying him. They kind of eased the tension, and they were able to tell stories and they talked as if he was still there, and they told a lot of funny stories."

A tribute to his most notable characteristic, separated now but united in spirit.

Knipp was booked into the Grady County jail.
