Midwest City Man Arrested For Robbing Credit Union At Knife-Point

MIDWEST CITY, Oklahoma -

Authorities have arrested a man accused of robbing a Midwest City credit union with a knife Monday morning.

According to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI,) at about 8:10 a.m., a suspect, described as a black male wearing a dark-color hooded sweatshirt, blue pants, white shoes, with the lower portion of his face covered, entered the Oklahoma Educators Credit Union (OECU) at 1704 S. Air Depot Boulevard in Midwest City, Oklahoma.

After the suspect entered the credit union, authorities said he immediately jumped over the teller counter, threatened the OECU employees with a knife and demanded money from the employees. The employees complied with his demands and gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash.

Before leaving the credit union, the suspect reportedly demanded one employee's driver’s license. He then left the bank with the cash and the employee’s license.

A short time later, an off-duty Midwest City police officer saw a person in the area of the credit union who matched the description of the bank robbery suspect. That person apparently saw the police officer and attempted to ran away. As the suspect was running, police said what appeared to be cash was falling from his person.

The Midwest City Police Department eventually took the suspect into custody. He was found to be in possession of an undisclosed amount cash and the OECU employee’s identification.

The suspect, later identified as 25-year-old Kerry D’angell Wallace from Midwest City, also matched the description of the suspect who robbed the OECU in December 2015.

However, the investigation is ongoing and the FBI and Midwest City Police Department have not confirmed if Wallace is the same individual who robbed the OECU in December.
