Millions of people from the mid-Atlantic to the northeast are preparing for a potentially crippling winter storm. Blizzard watches are in effect for some areas. But the problems have already begun.
Millions of people have already gotten a taste of what's to come. Nearly an inch of snow brought traffic to a standstill around the Washington D.C. metro Wednesday night.
Among those stuck in the mess, President Obama. It took more than an hour to get him from Andrews Air Force Base to the White House.
In other areas, slick roads led to crashes, pile-ups, and even spin outs. This is just a preview of what may be coming. Forecasters say some areas could see up to two feet of snow by Friday.
"We've already asked for additional national guard vehicles, and we would be prepared to ask for personnel," said Mayor Muriel Bowser, District of Columbia.
Before the Nor'easter arrives, the storm system is expected to bring severe weather and heavy rain to areas along the Gulf Coast Thursday.
