Two Dead After Crash On HE Bailey Near Newcastle

NEWCASTLE, Oklahoma -

Two people are dead following a crash on the HE Bailey Turnpike near Newcastle, Sunday afternoon.

According to a report, 39-year-old Kenda Dixon of Cache, Okla. was heading westbound on the turnpike in a 2015 Kia Forte.

Just after 2 p.m., Dixon tried to perform a U-turn at mile marker 105 and her vehicle was hit by a pickup heading eastbound on the interstate. Dixon was pronounced dead at the scene.

A passenger in Dixon’s vehicle, 21-year-old Justin Duncan, also from Cache, later died on the way to the hospital.

The driver of the pickup was not injured.
