OKC Police Release Sketch Of Suspect Accused Of Sexual Assault

Oklahoma City Police are looking for a man accused of groping a woman he picked up in a doctor's office parking lot. They’ve now released a composite sketch of the suspect.

Police say the woman thought the man was with the driving service she uses to get to her doctor appointments. The woman who reported it is afraid this man could do this to others just like her.

The woman tells police she was leaving her doctor's appointment at the Southwest Medical Center complex the morning of December 3, 2015 and began looking for the driving service she usually uses with the Oklahoma Health Care Authority.

“She did not see the normal van or vehicle that she rides in, she saw another vehicle walked up and saw a man sitting there, asked this person [if he was] with this company he indicated he was,” said MSgt. Gary Knight with the Oklahoma City Police Department. “She got into the vehicle with him, as it turns out he wasn't. That was just a ruse to get her into the car.”

Police say once he had her in the car, he began to drive her to the northwest part of town. According to the police report, the woman says that's when he "started to rub her breasts and rub between her legs". She claims he also began to "rub her back and neck" and that she "kept pushing his hands off of her".

The victim told police the man drove by some abandoned warehouse buildings and she thought about jumping out, but never did. She says he finally pulled into the Homeland parking lot near NW 18th Street and Classen Blvd. and says while she was at the store, she finally got a call from her doctor's office stating her driver was at the location waiting on her.

“It’s a good idea to ask for identification if you do not recognize the driver,” said Knight.

Police say the woman describes the man who assaulted her as a Hispanic male in his 60's with a heavy accent and short hair. She says he drove a white or cream colored smaller SUV and knew his way around the city.

The Oklahoma Health Care Authority sent News 9 a statement in response to the incident, stating:

“SoonerCare members who use our SoonerRide non-emergency transportation services to get to/from their medical appointments:

The contractor we use to transport you has protocols in place for your safety. The day before your appointment, you will receive a call from the transportation service to coordinate details with you.

Your SoonerRide driver will always be wearing a photo I.D. badge. Inside of the vehicle, there will also be a SoonerRide sign. OHCA and our contractor are working to strengthen security measures for your safety. Your driver will now be required to show you their photo I.D. badge before you enter the vehicle.

Your safety is very important to us, and we are committed to ensuring safe and reliable transportation for our members.”
