NORMAN, Oklahoma -

A newly released suspect photo may be the key to solving a Norman homicide from December.

Investigators are looking for the 18-year-old in connection with the death of a man living near the University of Oklahoma campus.

After interviewing about 30 witnesses last month, Norman police are looking for Tevin Hicks. Investigators think he knows what happened that night.

About 10 p.m. Dec. 14, Kenneth Keeling stepped outside of his apartment for a smoke, Keeling's wife said. She thinks her husband  and the father of three was the innocent victim of a drive-by shooting.

Norman police found Keeling laying on the ground of his balcony with a gunshot wound. He died at the hospital.

Bullet holes still pepper their second story balcony at the Summerfield Village Apartments.

“We've been able to talk to witnesses, numerous eyewitnesses at the scene that night,” Norman police spokeswoman Sarah Jensen said.

Numerous witnesses gave different stories to investigators. From those interviews, one name kept popping up, leading police to look for Hicks.

Hicks is wanted for questioning in connection with the homicide of Keeling.

“We feel like he holds key information that is key to this investigation that potentially leads him to be the key suspect,” Jensen said.

At this time, police don't believe Keeling and Hicks knew each other.

Keeling's wife told News 9 she'd never seen Hicks before police released his picture.

“That's why we need to talk to him because we need a better understanding of was this man hit by fire or was he hit for other reasons,” Jensen said.

If you know Hicks or have information about where he is, please contact Detective Brett Willer at (405) 217-7742 or the Norman Police Department at (405) 321-1444.
