Bethany Fatal Crash Investigated As Murder-Suicide
BETHANY, Oklahoma - Police are investigating a fatal vehicle crash as a murder-suicide, Bethany police said.
Bethany police received a call of shots fired and a call of a black sport utility vehicle that crossed the median and hit a tree at 2 p.m. Saturday in the area of Northwest 39th Expressway and Council Road.
The first officer on the scene determined both occupants of the vehicle had suffered gunshot wounds. The female passenger was dead at the scene and the male passenger was taken to OU Medical Center, police said.
The man died Sunday in the hospital.
A pistol was found in the front seat of the vehicle.
The man was identified as Deandra Harris, 42. The woman has not been positively identified. The two were believed to be husband and wife.
The state medical examiner's office will determine the causes and manners of death.
