OKLAHOMA CITY -

A Yukon police officer found himself in jail over the weekend. Investigators said he assaulted a woman after a late night party.

Zachary Bradford, 29, was not on duty when the incident took place.

The party may be over, but the consequences are not after Oklahoma City Police were called to a home at 1804 Carriage House Drive in Oklahoma City at 4 a.m. over the weekend.

"There was an individual who was at the party who had been drinking, went up to a vehicle, knocked on a window,” OKC Police Department Captain Paco Balderrama said.

That individual was Yukon Police Officer Zachary Bradford. He had been out drinking that night and ended up at a get together. According to his attorney, Billy Bock, Bradford ran into trouble when he went outside to get into what he thought was his Uber ride home.

"There was somebody inside the vehicle, opened the door and told him to stop and he then allegedly reached in, grabbed the person and forced her out of the vehicle,” Balderrama said.

It turns out, that wasn't his ride. Instead, Bock said it was Bradford's friend and a woman having relations in the back seat of an SUV. That's when he said Bradford got mad and threw his boot at the window. Bock said his client did not drag the woman out of the car and claimed she jumped out and lunged at Bradford. He then slung her aside by the hair.

However, a witness who lives in the house said otherwise.

“The guy was pulling her leg, pulling her…and trying to punch her,” he said. "She was bleeding from her neck…She was crying and shaking, because she just got assaulted."

Police said Bradford took off his shirt and then took off running. He was taken into custody later that morning.

"He was arrested on some felony charges that are actually not supported by one iota of evidence,” Bock said.

Yukon Police say Bradford has been placed on administrative leave while his case is being investigated.
