OKLAHOMA CITY -

Three-hundred high school students representing 14 metro high schools competed in the Junior Achievement Investor's Challenge at Memorial Road Church of Christ.

Each team gets $500,000 in play money to invest in various Oklahoma companies. The timed competition simulates the stock market and tests the students’ economic skills. Similar to the real world, breaking news of what is happening with company mergers or the price of oil affects their decision making.

The winner of Tuesday’s morning session was Putnam City North High school with a net profit of $80,000.
