OKLAHOMA CITY -

Police officials and other city leaders held a ribbon cutting ceremony for the opening of the new police headquarters in downtown Oklahoma City, early Monday afternoon.

The ceremony took place at 1 p.m. at the location of the new building at 700 N. Colcord Dr.

Oklahoma City Police Chief Bill City, along with Mayor Mick Cornett and others spoke at the event.

The new building replaces the 50-year-old former structure, located just across the street. It is over 88,000 sq. ft. in space and three stories tall. The new building is approximately 11-percent larger than the old HQ.
