OKLAHOMA CITY - Police arrested a man accused of stabbing and killing another man early Wednesday morning in northwest Oklahoma City.

According to police, the victim was seriously injured during some sort of altercation at the Hospitality Inn on N.W. 39th and Portland. He was transported to the OU Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. 

Police said there were numerous people inside of one of the hotel rooms when an altercation broke out.  During the melee, the victim was fatally injured. 

Wednesday afternoon, police confirmed they have arrested 39-year-old Steven Joseph McElroy on a first-degree murder complaint, in connection to the fatal stabbing. 

The victim's name will be released Thursday morning. 

This is Oklahoma City's 74th homicide of 2015, according to police.
