Sex Offender Accused Of Raping 13-Year-Old Boy

A registered sex offender is back behind bars just weeks after being released from prison. Investigators say his most recent victim was a 13-year-old boy.

"He's got an extensive criminal past, and as a matter fact he just got out of prison,” Caddo County assistant district attorney Allan Rosenbaum said.

Clifford Greenhalgh had not been out of prison for three weeks before authorities said he raped the boy.

"He's a danger to society,” Rosenbaum said. “He's proved that he cannot live in society it appears after being in prison."

In 2011, Greenhalgh was charged with assault and battery for strangling a woman and forcible oral sodomy.

His most recent arrest happened after a boy was helping Greenhalgh move into a trailer outside of Anadarko where he was hired as a ranch hand.

Court documents state the boy went to school "crying and told his teacher he doesn’t want to see Greenhalgh again."

He also told his teacher "Greenhalgh gave him two beers, and he was drunk." He said he woke up to Greenhalgh "touching his private area and had Vaseline." He said he "began kicking Greenhalgh because he knew it was wrong."

The boy was interviewed and a medical exam showed physical trauma to certain areas of his body. Investigators don't think there were any other victims.

"I don't think he had time enough,” Rosenbaum said.

Rosenbaum called this crime a “target of opportunity.”

Greenhalgh was charged with first degree rape and lewd or indecent acts to a child. He is in jail, and his bond is set at $1 million.
