OKLAHOMA CITY -

Oklahoma City police confirmed that the body of a baby was found in a dumpster at an apartment complex Wednesday night.

A man reported to police just before 7 p.m. that he was dumpster-diving for cans, when he found a deceased baby in a dumpster at the Seminole Ridge Apartments, located in the 100 block of W. Interstate 240 service road.

When officers arrived, they saw a "small baby with obvious signs of being dead and beyond medical help," the police report stated.

Officers are searching the area for clues. Police have not identified the child at this time.
