Top Four Comments To Avoid Making At Work

Posted: Updated:

We all know there are just some things you should never say to your bosses and other co-workers. Some could get you in the dog house.

We have the top four comments you should avoid making.

The average American spends 47 hours a week on the job. Even though you might see your co-workers more than your family, you shouldn't ignore boundaries.

According to, here are the four things you should never say while clocked in.

First -- "Only an idiot would vote for ____."

It's just a social norm to avoid politics at the office, but it might be hard to avoid during an election year. Your views could offend or cause friction with your co-worker.

Next -- "Don't tell anyone but ____. "

Sharing the latest office gossip is always tempting, but it won't make you look professional. Forty-four percent of HR managers say they would hesitate to promote anyone who gossips.

Third on the list -- "Are you pregnant?"

The site suggests you never ever ask a woman if she is pregnant. If your co-worker is expecting, they will tell you.

Up next -- "They don't pay me enough to do this."

A lot of workers are underpaid and burned out, but talking about your issues to whoever is around won't solve anything. If you are upset with your salary or your job requirements you should talk to your boss.
