A family believes a man found dead inside a burned out warehouse may be their loved one.

The discovery was made yesterday off NW 3rd St, and McKinley and that family is desperately waiting for the body to be identified.

A sister says she's almost positive the man found in that warehouse is their 49-year-old brother. The man was found with injuries investigators believe are consistent with murder.

It's news no family wants to hear. Oklahoma City police say the discovery of a body inside the warehouse Thursday morning came from a tip.

“Imagine getting a call that your brother may have passed away on his birthday the day before,” said Lori Davis, who believes her brother may be the victim.

Davis who is out of state says all she and her family can do at this point is speculate what may have happened to the man they believe is their brother. She says video from Bob Mills SkyNews 9 HD confirms this is an area she knew her brother frequented.

“They hang around. That’s where they squat sometimes,” said Davis.

The warehouse is just three blocks from the city’s homeless shelters. Lori says her brother has been homeless for at least 10 years.

“I don’t know his reason for being homeless,” said Davis. “But he was. We would try to find him on the street when I came to visit. Sometimes it was successful, sometimes it was not.”

This is the second time this week first responders have been called to the abandoned warehouse; Sunday for a fire and Thursday for the discovery of a body. But police say the first incident is not related to the man's death.

“I just need to know that it’s my brother, and it’s a heartbreaking thing,” said Davis. “[It is]Very difficult right now for us.”

The Medical Examiner's office tells News 9 it's waiting for fingerprint evidence from Oklahoma City police before releasing the man's identity.
