Our first round of scattered showers and storms continue to develop in western Oklahoma, ahead of our next cold front.

This trend is expected to continue into the early afternoon hours and may provide a few showers in the Oklahoma City metro. The actual cold front will start to get a shove to the south later this evening, moving through Enid and Clinton around 6 p.m., and then pushing through Oklahoma City between 7 and 10 p.m.

Along and ahead of the front, our second round of storms is expected to develop and may become severe. The main threat with storms this evening will be large hail and especially damaging wind gusts. If you are headed to the fair or to high school football games, make sure you have the News 9 weather app downloaded to keep you up to date.

Still, there's some uncertainty with the strength of storms later this evening due to morning showers. Heating/instability may be somewhat limited behind the first wave of rain and storms.
