Oklahomans are invited to come support Make-A-Wish Oklahoma’s “Walk For Wishes” event, which is taking place Saturday morning at the Oklahoma City Zoo.
The fun walk-a-thon event encourages the entire community to band together to grant wishes for Oklahoma kids. Held at the OKC Zoo, organizers said the event will also incorporate a family-friendly carnival immediately following the walk, complete with food, games, face-painting and much more.
Walkers of all ages, professions and backgrounds are welcome at the event. The fee is $20 for adults and $10 for children, which includes a t-shirt and the carnival following the event. As always, wish kids walk free.
Participants are encouraged to form teams with a minimum of four people and to raise additional funds to assist in granting the wishes of Oklahoma children.
Additionally, organizers said there are several ways for people to get involved with the walk as well. They need team captains, volunteers for carnival booths, volunteers for registration and of course walkers.
News 9 anchor Amanda Taylor will emcee the event.
Make-A-Wish Oklahoma was able to grant the wishes of 150 Oklahoma children last year.
