Man Arrested In OKC In Connection To Carjacking, Bank Robbery

Oklahoma City police arrested a man suspected of robbing a bank then attempting to steal a car while test-driving it.

Oklahoma City police arrested a man suspected of robbing a bank then attempting to steal a car while test-driving it.

Surveillance video captured 20-year-old Demetrious Nero at the counter of Arvest Bank at 3900 Lincoln Blvd. Around 11 a.m. Monday, police said he handed a note to the teller and ran off with cash. The teller told police he was wearing makeup and his eyebrows were "penciled in.”

At 6 p.m., police received another call from a Bob Howard employee that a man matching Nero's description dropped off a salesman at Hefner and Broadway Extension while test driving a 2013 Mercedes Benz.

The car and the suspect were eventually found at the Phillips 66 gas Station at N.E. 36th and Kelly. When he was arrested he was wearing a wig. He is now in the Oklahoma County Jail.
