Oklahoma County Sheriff Nabs Suspected Vehicle Thief

The Oklahoma County Sheriff is credited with nabbing a stolen vehicle suspect after a traffic stop on the southwest side of the metro, Tuesday afternoon.

The stop happened near Interstate 40 and S. Shields Blvd. Authorities say Sheriff John Whetsel observed speeding and run a red light in the area before initiating the traffic stop.

A check revealed that the vehicle was stolen and the driver’s license had been revoked. The driver, 42-year-old Sylvester Tucker was then placed under arrest.

Tucker had recently been released from prison and had a lengthy criminal background, which included charges for robbery and drugs.
