A former Norman teacher is out on bond, accused of trying to meet up with a 9-year-old boy and his father for sex.

Turns out that boy and his father were actually an undercover officer with the El Reno Police Department.

The officer set up a meeting Monday night, and arrested Joseph Leon Love when he showed up.

Love was booked into the El Reno jail Monday night but has since bonded out, and the Norman school district said he resigned Tuesday.

According to the arrest warrant, one of El Reno's officers was in contact with Love since March when he responded to an ad he placed on Craigslist. The ad said "any dads like to perv over their young sons, let's talk."

Another post read, "I want to talk to any real dads out there who have sons and like to think perv thoughts about them. Let's have some hot chat."

"Yeah, it's very alarming," El Reno police Lt. Van Gillock said.

Gillock said his officers set up a sting where they lured Love into coming to El Reno.

The officer pretended to be the "father of a 9-year-old boy" and asked Love to meet them at this southwest El Reno apartment complex.

Court papers state Love "gave very graphic sexual descriptions of what he intended to do to the child."

He drove out and as soon as he was identified. the officers moved in and arrested him with no issues.

Police said Love even admitted to being a teacher during his Internet chats with the undercover officer.

And when they arrested him at the apartment he had a bag with him, containing "action figures, marijuana, rum and wine coolers."

"And there were some images of child pornography on his phone as well," Gillock said.

News 9 checked and it turns out Love was a first year teacher at Longfellow Middle School in Norman where he taught 8th grade language arts.

Officers told News 9 this is just one of several stings they have been a part of lately. They encourage all parents out there to be vigilant about watching over their kids Internet chats since they can't catch all the Internet predators out there.

Love was charged Tuesday afternoon and faces four felony counts.
