OHP Identifies 2 Killed In Cotton Co. Accident

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol has identified two people who died in a head-on accident on Interstate 44 in Cotton County.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol has identified two people who died in a head-on accident on Interstate 44 in Cotton County. 

About 8:30 p.m. Saturday, Annegret Mondey, 70, of Gainesville, Georgia, and Sherrie Sheppard, 70, of Clermont, Florida, were in a vehicle driving southbound on the H.E. Bailey Turnpike.

A pickup, driven by Jerry L. Cochran, 45, of Markleville, Indiana, was driving northbound in the southbound lanes. The pickup hit the southbound vehicle head-on, troopers said.

The vehicle burst into flames after impact and both occupants were pinned in the vehicle for about four hours, troopers said.

Both women died at the scene. Everyone involved in the accident were wearing seat belts, troopers said.
