Authorities Identify Pedestrian Killed In Cleveland Co. Traffic Accident

A Lexington man died Saturday morning after being hit by a pickup in Cleveland County, a sheriff's office spokeswoman said.

About 7:15 a.m., Robert William Haley, 65, was walking on the road in the 10700 block of Box Road near Lexington when a pickup hit Haley, Cleveland County spokeswoman Meghan McCormick said.

Haley died at the scene. The driver of the pickup, who was not injured, has not been identified.

Cleveland County deputies are investigating the circumstances surrounding the wreck.
