Growing old doesn't have to mean waking up at 4 a.m. and eating dinner at 3 in the afternoon. Some of our local Elderly are proving to still have an adventurous side.

Around Elderly People, some may seem too careful. But one particular group is out to prove that while they maybe old, but they aren’t too old to take a chance!

“I'm not scared at all,” said Nancy Luce. “I just wanted to do some fun things that I've never done before.”

Luce is pretty much leading this pack of into the woods of Camp Redlands in Stillwater.

“You all are trying to get rid of me- that's [why] you are sending me out here,” said Luce.

At 83, her bucket list strikes fear in most people half her age.

“I’ve done a tandem skydive,” Luce boasted.

And like anyone who's done the same, she’d not afraid to talk about it.

“It got to the point where I was wondering when the chutes go,” Luce said.

But her latest challenge on the list brought talk that seems a little dire...

“My kids are grown. It’s not like I have little children. And [if] something happened to me, no big deal.”

So Luce, and others from the Primrose Retirement Center, head out on an adventure organizers wish more elderly people would embrace.

“They just need a little time. They haven't stopped doing, it's not like they've stopped wanting to do things because they are over the age of the 75 to 80,” said Katherine Chadrick.

After the golden girl gets gear up and raised up, she's then released down a zip line.

“There's no good reason I feel wobbly, but I'll be alright,” Luce said.

Afterwards, Luce needed that water; instructors insisted on it.

“I enjoyed it very much. I'm glad I did it, but I probably won't do it again.”

She says the preparation seemed a little too long, and at 83, she's doesn’t have time for that when other adventures await.

“When I get to Colorado, I might do white water rafting.”
