Armed Robbers Pull Gun On Store Clerk In Moore

A quick heist takes place with some special requests as a gas station clerk is held at gunpoint by two masked men.

The suspects were caught on camera, and Moore Police say one has a distinctive trait all his own.

It happened near 27th and Janeway about 11:30 Wednesday night.

In the surveillance video, you can see the suspect wobble inside the store. Police say it is a notable characteristic of one of the robbers.

“He’s a fairly large guy,” Jeremy Lewis of the Moore Police Dept. said. “Just the way he walks. He kind of wobbles in. If I knew the guy, I would be able to recognize him even though he has a mask on.”

The “wobbler's” face is covered with a red bandana. His partner is wearing a black ski mask that covers his face. Neither suspect touched much but asked for a few particular things.

“They didn’t just say give me all the cigarettes,” Lewis said. “They wanted a specific brand, but they took cartons of cigarettes and then grabbed all the cigars off the counter.”

They also took all the money from the register.

News 9 talked to the clerk's coworker. The young man who was working that night was supposed to work Thursday night, too, but he called in and was too shaken up after having this gun pointed at him.

 “They didn’t hurt the clerk,” Lewis said. “He felt threatened. So he gave them everything.”

The suspects requested Newport 100 cigarettes along with all the money in the register.

“Even though their faces are covered, someone will probably know who they are,” Lewis said.
