Yahoo! Sports reports Oklahoma City and Kyle Singler have agreed to a multi-year extension.
Adrian Wojnarowski reports the deal is for five years and worth close to $25 million.
Singler was acquired by the Thunder from Detroit in February as part of a three-team deal. He averaged 3.7 points and 2.1 rebounds in 17.5 minutes off the bench in the 26 games he played with the Thunder.
While the figures may seem a bit steep for a career 8.1 points per game scorer, but Singler is a 38 percent 3-point shooter and is a solid defender. Also, with the salary cap set to skyrocket in 2016-17, Singler’s salary doesn’t look nearly as high.
The Thunder now turn their attention to Enes Kanter, who they are set to meet with Wednesday afternoon in Chicago. Kanter will be expensive, but OKC seems ready to pay almost anything to keep him in town.
Qualls Signs With OKC
Real GM is reporting the Thunder has agreed to a free-agent deal with former Arkansas guard Michael Qualls.
Qualls averaged 15.9 points per game as a junior this past season and has a 39-inch vertical leap. But he tore his ACL prior to last week’s NBA Draft and went undrafted. With a loaded roster, the Thunder has the ability to be able to monitor Qualls’ rehab and be patient as he works his way back to basketball shape.
