Police are looking to the public to help identify a woman who is believed to have conned an elderly metro man out of hundreds of dollars and two of his trucks.

Oklahoma City police released surveillance footage of the alleged suspect in the hopes that someone would recognize her.

One truck is a light-brown ’91 Ford F-150, with peeling paint. It has Oklahoma license plate: 003-LIB. The second truck is a white ’11 Ford F-350 with Oklahoma license plate: 719-KUT.

The investigation began after the victim, who is in his 80s, contacted police on June 8. The conversation with the victim was lengthy and erratic at times, as the man had trouble remembering specifics of the encounter, according to the report.

Police learned it started at the Wal-Mart on Interstate 35, but did not know when specifically the event occurred. The suspect approached the victim, addressed him by name and claimed she used to work with his daughter. The suspect then asked for money for groceries, to which the victim obliged because he said she was with her children.

The victim told police the groceries cost “several hundred dollars.” The suspect then got the victim’s phone number and he drove her to some place, but could not remember to where.

This leeching relationship continued for some time. The suspect would ask the victim for rides and money. One day the suspect called and asked if she could borrow one of his trucks because her van had broken down. She told him she’d bring it back the next day, but the man told police that that was over a month ago.

The victim said he had another truck he used, but it had damage to the front fender. The suspect then told the victim she knew someone who could fix the damage for $800. He gave her the money and took the truck and now it had been gone for weeks.

The victim’s granddaughter soon got involved and told police that she had power of attorney for him. She told police that the family had made contact the suspect over the phone, and that the suspect said she was afraid to bring the trucks back because she would go to jail.

If you recognize the suspect, please contact Crime Stoppers at (405) 235-7300. You may be eligible for a cash reward.
