Tips Lead OKC Police To Armed Robbery Suspects

Two suspects believed to be involved in robbing and beating a woman outside of her southwest Oklahoma City apartment are now in custody.

Police released surveillance footage of a female suspect using the victim's debit card at a local convenience store. And thanks to tips on the police Crime Stoppers hotline, officers were able to arrest 24-year-old Diamond Coleman, which in turn led to the arrest of 33-year-old Brandon Jones.

The original crime took place just after midnight back in early May, at an apartment complex located in the 9200 block of S. Shartel Ave., near SW 89th St. The victim had just arrived back home and was attacked from behind as she exited her vehicle.

The victim told police she thought one of the suspects was wielding a knife during the attack, but did not use it. The victim said she screamed for help and fought back while the suspects tried to pull her purse away.

A total of four suspects, two other males, are believed to have participated in the attack, with Jones suspected of being suspect who initiated the robbery. Police have not released any information on the other two possible suspects.

Both Coleman and Jones were arrested and booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on counts of Robbery and Conspiracy. Details on a bond were not immediately available.
