One person was killed in a two-vehicle collision on Interstate 44 near 23rd Street in Oklahoma City, Tuesday morning.
At about 9:30 a.m., the crash shut down the eastbound lanes of I-44 (which run north in the area) between N.W. 10th and N.W. 23rd. Traffic was backed up in the area.
The lanes reopened just before 12 p.m.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, a 2001 Dodge Caravan driven by 61-year-old Debra K. Brown of Mustang rear-ended a 2006 Volkswagen Jetta.
Brown was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Jetta was transported to OU Medical Center, suffering from head, trunk and internal injuries. She has been treated and released.
The cause of the collision is under investigation.
