An 18-year-old was arrested on a DUI complaint after authorities said he drove his car into the Chickasha Lake Monday night.
According to a probable cause affidavit, at about 9:25 p.m., officers responded to the report of a single vehicle accident at the Chickasha Lake. Police said someone drove a vehicle off a cliff and into the lake.
When officers arrived at the scene, they spoke with the driver, later identified as 18-year-old Kaleb Alan Barrett. Officers said Barrett spontaneously uttered without being asked that he had been drinking and was driving fast, which caused him to wreck the car.
Barrett reportedly could not complete simple sentences and was unsteady on his feet. A breathalyzer test measured Barrett's BAC at .14. The legal limit is .08.
Barrett was arrested and booked into the Caddo County Jail on a complaint of driving under the influence of alcohol.
