Authorities in Canadian County are investigating an incident at Maple Public School, Tuesday evening. CCSO officials said a subject disabled cameras and then was caught in the act of stealing diesel fuel that is used for school buses.

Undersheriff Chris West told News 9 a maintenance man chased the subject in his private vehicle until the subject stopped, put his blue 1998 Chevy pickup truck in reverse and rammed him.

CCSO said the subject continued northbound on Maple to the Calumet area where he lost the maintenance man.

This was the third incident involving fuel thefts at the school. Approximately 1,000 gallons have been stolen in those three incidents, officials with CCSO said.

Anyone with information should contact the sheriff's office.
