Pedestrian Struck, Killed By Vehicle In Norman

NORMAN, Oklahoma -

One person was killed after being struck by a car in a rural residential are on the northeast side of Norman on Sunday.

Emergency crews responded to the scene in the 4500 block of 48th Ave. NE, in between E. Tecumseh Rd. and E. Franklin Rd., at approximately 12:18 p.m.

According to the report, the driver of a 2002 Saturn L100 was heading southbound on 48th Ave. NE from Franklin when the vehicle collided with the victim, who was standing in the roadway. The pedestrian was transported by ambulance to Norman Regional Hospital where they were later declared dead.

The driver of the vehicle was not injured.

Neither the driver nor the deceased pedestrian has been identified at this time, pending notification of Next of Kin.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
