Oklahoma City police arrested a man who is accused of choking and raping a woman early Saturday morning.

According to police, at about 1:40 a.m., officers responded to the Red Roof Inn, located at 309 S. Meridian. The victim told police that she and the suspect, 27-year-old Donte Liajuan Johnson, had been dating for about seven months. She said they rented the room so they could just relax.

The victim said Johnson had been drinking before coming to the room. She said she accused Johnson of cheating on her. That's when Johnson punched her in the left eye.

The victim said she fell to the ground, and Johnson got on top of her and began choking her. She said she lost consciousness for a few moments.

When the victim woke up, she said Johnson grabbed a small pocket knife and held the blade to her neck, telling her to get on the bed and take her clothes off. Johnson reportedly threatened to kill the victim. He then raped her, according to the police report.

The victim said the sexual assault continued until police knocked on the door.

According to police, the victim became unconscious after being transported to the hospital. She had to be taken to an ICU because she was not breathing on her own and had some swelling in her throat due to her injuries.

Johnson was arrested and booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on multiple complaints, including first-degree rape after a former felony conviction, domestic assault with a dangerous weapon after a former felony conviction, domestic abuse by strangulation after a former felony conviction, and domestic assault and battery after a former felony conviction. A bond has not been set.
