OKC Police Officer Hospitalized After Accident With Drunk Driver

The Oklahoma City Police Department is investigating after responding to an officer-involved crash late Friday night.

The accident occurred shortly before 11:00 p.m. Friday, when an officer was conducting a traffic stop in the 5400 block of S. Sooner Rd. A witness said the officer was rear-ended by an SUV.

Emergency crews responded and the officer was transported to a local hospital in stable condition.

The driver of the SUV, an adult female, was exhibiting signs of intoxication and was arrested for a DUI. She received minor injuries in the crash and was transported to the hospital. Following treatment, she was booked into the Oklahoma County Jail.

The identify of both the officer and driver have not been released at this time.
