The recent storms have caused a lot of problems for homeowners in the metro. We've seen homes leveled by both tornadoes and major flooding.

And now there are reports of woman left homeless after a lightning strike set fire to her home.

Kathy Anderson's home was destroyed by lightning but she was able to walk away with what she values most, her dogs. But as it turns out, this was only the start of her misfortune.

Kathy Anderson and her fiancé Marcus Smith may disagree with the old adage “lightning never strikes the same place twice.”

“The lightning went phew, pow, puh, and it hit there,” said Smith.

The couple took cover in their shelter, only to find that after the storm they'd have nothing but each other and their pets.

Kathy said they found a temporary place to stay and all was well until her 19-year-old dog Honey went missing.

“I didn't notice until I got back to the hotel and opened the truck and she wasn't there,” said Anderson.

She said the dog jumped out of the window of the truck at some point Wednesday. They've retraced all of their footsteps since the tragedy, but have not been able to find their dog.

“She's deaf but she can hear the loud screech,” said Anderson. “She needs to come home.”

Kathy and her fiancé say everything they lost can be replaced except for Honey.

“I need to find her, the storms are coming again and she's afraid of lightning and thunder, and I want my dog home. If anyone can help us, we really need our dog,” said Smith.

The couple believes the dog went missing in a restaurant parking lot near Tinker Diagonal. They are offering a reward to get her home.
