The largest recall in U.S. History has roots right here in Oklahoma.

The death of 18-year-old Ashley Parham in a Carl Albert High School parking lot six years ago was unusual and tragic. Parham was driving a Honda Accord when she caused a minor accident outside the school. The impact caused her steering wheel airbag to deploy.

Investigators later discovered metal shards from that airbag punctured a major artery in Parham's neck, causing her to bleed to death before Eagle Med could get her to OU Medical Center.

Midwest City Police Chief Bradon Clabes said Parham's death will save other lives. "It could be anybody's child that this happened to, or anybody's parent or relative. That's why we are urging everybody to go to the internet and see I your car's one of the one's affected by the recall, and get it fixed."

Around 34 million cars have been recalled, which is one in ten cars on the road in the U.S.
