Injuries, Damage Reported After Tornado Touches Down In SE OKC

A tornado ripped through southeast Oklahoma City Wednesday night, injuring nearly two dozen people and damaging multiple structures.

A tornado ripped through southeast Oklahoma City Wednesday night, injuring nearly two dozen people and damaging multiple structures.

Just before 9 p.m., a confirmed tornado touched down near Interstate 35 and S.E. 44th St. in OKC. Vehicles were overturned on the highway and power lines were down in the area.

According to authorities, 20 people were injured, and five of those people are in critical condition.

Emergency crews were able to rescue one person overnight who was trapped under a mobile home.

Bob Mills SkyNews 9 HD flew over the area Thursday morning to survey the damage. A hotel and a nearby mobile home park suffered heavy damage.
