A driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI following a crash that killed one person and injured another late Sunday night in southeast Oklahoma City.

It happened just before 11 p.m. near Interstate 240 and Sunnylane Road. According to officers on the scene, the driver who caused this deadly accident could have easily avoided it, if he wasn't under the influence of some kind of substance.

According to police, a white car was heading south on Sunnylane Road just north of I-240, when a speeding black car rear-ended it.

Police said the white car left the road and flipped. Two people were inside the white car at the time of the crash. A woman riding in the car was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was taken to the hospital and released with minor injuries.

As for the driver of the black car, investigators don't know what he was under, but they said it was alcohol or drugs. He has been arrested for DUI.

Meanwhile, that intersection is back open for the morning commute.

Police have not identified anyone involved in the collision.
