A man was arrested after a K9 officer helped Oklahoma County deputies find marijuana and prescription pills hidden in his vehicle's spare tire.
According to the Sheriff's office, on Tuesday, a deputy observed a car following a trailer too closely and stopped the driver on Interstate 40 near Meridian Avenue. The driver, 25-year old Cortez Jones of Tennessee, was reportedly visibly nervous when he was speaking with the deputy.
K9 Thor checked around the vehicle and gave a positive alert that drugs were inside the car. Deputies then searched the vehicle and found drugs inside the vehicle's spare tire.
According to the Sheriff's office, deputies recovered eight and a half pounds of marijuana ($15,000 street value,) 322 Hydrocodone pills ($1,500 street value,) 65 Alprazolam pills ($130 street value,) 50 Morphine pills ($500 street value) and marijuana edibles.
Jones was booked into the Oklahoma County jail on $10,000 bail and complaints of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, and possession of controlled dangerous drugs with intent to distribute.
