Norman Police Investigate Shots Fired Overnight

People in a busy part of Norman woke up to the sound of gunshots overnight, and now police are trying to find out what happened.

The call came in just before midnight. The person said there was some kind of fight and they heard gunshots.

Police rushed to the scene at Lindsey Street about a mile east of I-35. However, officers said they were unable to locate any victims, suspects, or a crime scene.

But about 15 minutes later another caller said someone they knew was vandalizing a car, which led to an argument. That's when someone pulled out a gun and fired at least three shots.

Whoever that was took off with a group of people in two separate cars. The suspect and his associates left the area in two vehicles.

At this point, Norman police haven't released a description of that person or the getaway car. Despite shots being fired, no one was injured.
