The historic Bricktown entertainment district in Oklahoma City, now has a new logo.

Officials with the Bricktown Association and Downtown Oklahoma City, Inc. unveiled a new Bricktown district logo and marketing strategy on Friday.

The presentation, which included remarks from Bricktown Chairman of the Board Steve Hurst, Bricktown District Manager Mallory O'Neill, and Downtown Oklahoma City, Inc.'s President and CEO Jane Jenkins, took place at the Hilton Garden Inn at 328 E. Sheridan Ave.

"The Bricktown board of directors, property owners, and tenants wanted a brand that would showcase the major reinvestment - both financially and emotionally - happening here," said O'Neill. "The new logo still gives a nod to the history of the area with a more industrial look."

Over the past year, the Bricktown Association's Marketing Committee and staff have been working closely with Funnel Design Group in Oklahoma City to refresh the district's image. The campaign will include a new Bricktown logo, advertising and promotional pieces, apparel, district identification markers, and pole banners, officials said.

"Bricktown is changing from a nights-and-weekends entertainment district into a true mixed-use destination with offices, housing, college classrooms, restaurants and retail. For 12 years we've had the same logo, and a lot has changed since that one was created. I think it's a great idea to rebrand the district to reflect the evolution of Bricktown," said Bricktown board member Andy Burnett, CCIM, Senior Vice President of Multifamily Housing for Newmark Grubb Levy Strange Beffort.

In conjunction with the new image efforts, the district is also implementing several tax increment financing (TIF) projects through the City of Oklahoma City's planning and public works departments, including upgrading Bricktown's landscaping and lighting, repainting railing along the Bricktown Canal, and removing the non-functioning gas lamps throughout the district.
