OKLAHOMA CITY -

Emergency crews responded to the area of 7th and Rockwell shortly after several damages were reported Wednesday evening.

Trees were struck by lightning and can be seen split into three parts. Multiple fences were down and carports were torn away from their foundation.

A new homeowner in the area watched as a tree ripped through her new home. And others who were inside their homes when the storm blew said it sounded like a freight train.

“It was like everything just went black, I knew that it was a small tornado.”

Power is still out in the area and neighbors were going door to door checking on each other.

Clean up efforts will continue on Thursday.
