TUTTLE, Oklahoma -

A Tuttle woman claimed her husband has been more than unfaithful.

She said he married another woman while still being married to her.

Angi Haney said she's not out for revenge, but wants justice.

Haney said she wants people to know that bigamy, when someone is married to more than one person, is a serious problem.

Angi said she was married for a year and half before her husband moved out of their Tuttle home in November of last year.

She said he got married again in January of 2015, and showed News 9 her marriage certificate from Canadian County and her husband's marriage certificate to another woman from McClain County.

“It's embarrassing,” said Angi, who feels the state isn't doing enough to prevent this type of crime.

The Tuttle woman has filed a police report against her husband, but no bigamy charges have been filed.

In January, News 9 told you how David Hines from Oklahoma City was being charged. He's accused of being married to two women at the same time.

Prosecutors said it was the first bigamy charge it had filed in many years.

“There needs to be more awareness, because it's not a victimless crime,” said Haney.

Haney said she believes a marriage database, filled with the names of those who have tied the knot, could prevent the problem.

She said she thinks many people refuse to pursue bigamy charges against their spouses because they are embarrassed.

Angie said she thinks a fee to check the marriage database would provide funding for the service and technology.
