JONES, Oklahoma -

Multiple earthquakes were recorded in Oklahoma, Wednesday morning.

A 3.0 magnitude earthquake has shaken residents of a small community near Oklahoma City.

The U.S. Geological Survey says the earthquake was recorded at about 3:30 a.m. Wednesday in Jones, about 12 miles northeast of Oklahoma City in central Oklahoma. The temblor occurred at a depth of about three miles.

At 9:48 a.m., another 3.0 magnitude earthquake was recorded 13 miles south of Medford and 17 miles northeast of Enid.

No injuries or damage was reported.

On Tuesday, a 4.2 magnitude earthquake was recorded about 13 miles south-southeast of Medford in northern Oklahoma, one of several quakes recorded in the state during the day.

Geologists say earthquakes of magnitude 2.5 to 3.0 are generally the smallest that are felt by humans and damage is not likely in quakes below magnitude 4.0.
