Emergency crews responded to the scene of a crash following a police pursuit near State Highway 9 and Route 77 in Norman, Tuesday morning.

Norman Police say the chase started as a routine traffic stop near 12th Ave. and Commerce Dr. The officer was pulling the driver over for a suspended license. During the stop, the officer felt that the driver was being deceptive with him about her identity. Once the correct information was discovered, the woman took off.

The chase was brief and ended when the woman, now identified as 24-year-old Bethany Shores, tried to make a sharp turn from Route 77 onto highway 9 and rolled her silver Ford F150. No other cars were involved.

A 1-year-old child was in the car at the time of the crash. Authorities tell News 9 that neither the woman nor her baby were injured in the crash. However, the child was transported to a local hospital as a precaution.

Shores was arrested at the scene and booked into the Cleveland County Jail on the charges of Driving Under Suspension, Attempting to Elude a Police Officer, Obstruction, Child Endangerment and an outstanding Logan County Warrant.
