OKLAHOMA CITY -

The Thunder will use the hardship exception to sign journeyman point guard Ish Smith on Wednesday, according to multiple reports.

Smith entered the league undrafted in 2010 and has bounced around six teams, most recently playing in 70 games last season for the Phoenix Suns.

The Thunder are down to just seven healthy bodies after losing Perry Jones to a knee contusion on Wednesday night.

Pending a physical, Smith will join Reggie Jackson, Sebastian Telfair, Lance Thomas, Serge Ibaka, Nick Collison, Steven Adams and Kendrick Perkins when the team takes on Memphis at home on Friday.
